150 km cross-country tracks!
Rauland is a great area for cross-country skiing with all together 150 km well groomed cross-country tracks. You find the tracks in a varied terrain. About 60 km with one classic track with the possibility for skating. The rest has two classic tracks. Around 70 km tracks are located in the high-mountain area, 80 km tracks are located in the forest.
You find the tracks in different parts of Rauland and the surrounding areas, you don't need to take the same trip every day, but have the possibility to experience new tracks every day. We recommend to go skiing in Silkedalen, departing from Vierli Turistsenter or Rauland Skisenter. Here the tracks will take you up on the mountain through a beautiful and varied landscape.
Most tracks depart or arrive at a place where you can take our skibus to and/or from. This depend on where in Rauland you are staying.
You also find 5 km roundtrack by Arabu Cabincenter, in addition there are 2 km tracks from Arabu over the ice at Lake Møsvatn arriving in the blue track.
Floodlighted cross-country arena
To secure an early season in early november, there are 6 km floodlighted tracks between Rauland Høgfjellshotell and Vierli Turistsenter. Rauland also has an 8 km lighted ski trail from Rauland city centre to Attføringssenteret. These tracks are lighted until 10 pm every evening.
Map for winter skiing tracks from I.L. Dyre Vaa may be purchases from the Tourist Information and other accomplishments. NOK 50,- This map includes the distances of the different tracks and how the tracks are coded with numbers and colors.
Både bedriftene og hytteeierne i Rauland oppfordrer alle som bruker løypene til å bidra med løypeavgift. Men hvorfor betale?
