Vierli in the summer
An abundance of animal life in the mountains and lakes, with excellent fishing oppertunities by fishing rod from land and sea. Those staying in the rental cabins are permitted to fish for free and borrow canoes and boats. Life vests are included.
The popular playground has challenges for all sizes, climbing walls, the tractor Little Fergie, sand playpen, bouncing castle, trampolines, and more.
Plenty of things to do
Here you can see some of our rich animal life, and there are plenty of opportunities for catching fish by fishing road, at land or at sea.
There are several marked trails that invites to a hike at the foot of Norway's most famous national park, Hardangervidda.
A warm summer day is perfect for a dip in one of the nearby mountain lakes, or a paddling trip in one of our canoes. Or how about your own barbeque by the lake?
Have a party by the Uvatn lake at the floating stage. Bring your swimming costume, sun cream and go for a trip in one of our boats.
At the track you can borrow "go cart bicycles" and "tractor bicycles." There is an extended ball field and playground with basketball basket and football/volleyball/badminton net. We also have a giant jumping cushion (8 x 8 metres) and a "Tazan slide." Everything is free and available at all times.
There are over 10 km of marked walking trails.
Vierli Turist Centre offers its own orientation route for families with eight stations in the surrounding areas. In addition we have a "cairn builder's offer" for those who climb three of our nearby mountain tops. Everyone who completes the orientation route or builds a small cairn will be awarded a diploma and a small prize.
Hardangervidda National Park
Hardangervidda National Park is one of the largest areas were you find wild reindeers in Norway. At the other side of Vierli towards Seljord, Gaustatoppen and Tuddal is Bratte Mountain/Vindeggen where you also find a stock at approximately 500 reindeer.
The children's summer farm
At the children's summer farm the children will meet goats, ducks, rabbits and other animals up close. The children's summer farm opens around 20th June.
Are you staying at Vierli you fish for free in our lakes Oksatjønn and Uvatn. Although fishing is restricted to certain areas in Uvatn, you can fish everywhere in Oksatjønn.
Rauland also has great fishing lakes: Totak, Lognvikvatn, Tansvatn og Møsvatn, all 8–10 km from Vierli. You can buy fishing licences from the Tourist Information Office in Rauland.
Rauland has a rich cultural life with concert and other events all year around. The two great sculpture selections - the Dyre Vaa and Skinnarlan collections are well worth a visit.
The Rauland Exhibition at the Rauland Art Society is a famous summer exhibition showcasing a wide gamut known and unknown artists. Here you can find variations in crafts, visual art and textiles with very high quality.
